Seventh Keynoter for Living Games 2018 Announced!
The Living Games Conference 2018 is proud to announce our seventh keynote speaker for the event! The conference will feature several short keynote speeches from presenters with a variety of different backgrounds related to larp, who we will announce periodically in the months leading up to the event.
Without further ado, our seventh keynote speaker is:
Jaakko Stenros (PhD) is a game and play researcher working at the Centre of Excellence in Game Culture Studies at the Game Research Lab, University of Tampere. He has published seven books and over 50 articles and reports and has taught game studies and internet studies for almost a decade. He is currently working on understanding the form of games, the making of larps, and uncovering the aesthetics of social play. Stenros’ other research interests include norm-defying play, rules, queer play, role-playing games, pervasive games, and playfulness. His work has received many awards, such as the prize for the best dissertation of the year at the University of Tampere. Stenros has also collaborated with artists and designers to create ludic experiences and has curated exhibitions at the Finnish Museum of Games. He lives in Helsinki, Finland.
