Eighth Keynote Speaker Pair for Living Games 2018 Announced!

The Living Games Conference 2018 is proud to announce our eighth keynote speaker pair for the event! The conference will feature several short keynote speeches from presenters with a variety of different backgrounds related to larp, who we will announce periodically in the months leading up to the event.

Without further ado, our eighth keynote speaker pair is:

Quinn Milton

Quinn Milton is an artist, writer, and larp designer currently based in NY. Quinn received zir BA from Vassar College in Studio Art. Ze has written and organized larps for ten years, including for the Wayfinder Experience, and most recently as a co-creator of Event Horizon, a seasonal destination sci-fi game. Quinn’s primary concern within larp is facilitating queer-friendly play communities and empowering youth. Ze creates cooperative, non-competitive larps that nonetheless incorporate combat and player-versus-player elements. With Event Horizon, Quinn is not only an organizer and game designer, but also directs brand and marketing. Ze has been a member of the Wayfinder Experience’s Story Board for 4 years, where ze critiques larps and helps determine the yearly schedule of games. Quinn also is an experienced costumer and production artist.
Quinn’s art has been exhibited in the U.S. and U.K.. Ze is a freelance illustrator and has produced work for tabletop rpgs and larps alike. Ze is also a non-binary/trans consultant for comics, fiction, and games.

Sadia Bies

Sadia Bies has been writing, designing, and costuming larps for four years. They are the Director of Art and Costuming and co-owner of Event Horizon, a high production scifi larp. They design props, create fashion guides for players, costume NPCs, and contribute to plot writing. Sadia focuses on world building through aesthetics and the ways that visual factors impact engagement with the game. They are passionate about using larp to explore possible futures and to gain experience navigating real world struggles.

Sadia is employed by The Wayfinder Experience as a gamewriter, costumer, and counselor for children ages 8-18. Wayfinder focuses on building inclusive communities and teaching self-exploration and interpersonal skills through larp at their summer camps. They also work as a professional Dungeon Master for adults and children in Brooklyn.
